Description

7th Annual Camp Twitch and Shout Benefit/Halloween Party!

Event Details

Just because I moved to NC does not mean this benefit will stop! But this year, we will be adding a little twist. Since it is so close to Halloween, this will be a costume party as well! Come out with your best costume and support an organization that means so much to me. And, it's an excuse for you to come see me after I moved away!

Camp Twitch and Shout is a week long camp in Georgia for kids with Tourette Syndrome, something I have suffered from my entire life. Tourette Syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes involuntary “tics”, ranging from physical to vocal. The ages of the kids range from 7 to 17 years old, and we average about 150 kids per year, and they come from all over the country. As you may know, summer camps cost money, and some families have a hard time affording these. The money we raise will go towards the Camp's Scholarship Program, which will help fund those families struggling to bring their kids.

Last year, at the 6th Annual Benefit, we were able to raise $5,500 dollars! The goal this year is to have 150 people attend and break that $5,500!

The date is Saturday October 26th, 2019, from 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM, at the Bocce Club at 2001 Point Breeze Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19145. Tickets will be $30. You can buy tickets through me with cash or Venmo, or through the Eventbrite link below. There will also be tickets for sale at the door for those who need them last minute. Your ticket will include all you can eat and drink, which includes draft beer, wine and soda. A cash bar will be available as well. There will be tickets for sale for raffles, which include sports tickets, gift cards and gift baskets, and a 50/50.

I have had the privilege to attend this camp for 7 summers now. The things these kids accomplish during this week are far more important to them than what they experience at home, and you can help give them this experience. It is the only time these kids have the chance to be around others like them and get away from the physical and emotional stress Tourette Syndrome brings them.
