The ‘Deck the Ave’ holiday campaign will kick off on Saturday, November 26 with Small Business Saturday on the Avenue, offering special events, sales and more. This holiday season, we’ll also be featuring weekly photos with Santa, ‘PassyunkShops’ shopping specials, and Arctic Ave, a day-long festival with live ice carvings.
2016 ‘Deck the Ave’ events:
** SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY**
Dozens of shops, restaurants, boutiques and other small businesses along the Avenue will be celebrating Small Business Saturday on November 26 with special events, deals, major sales and more. We’ll start by kicking off our 2016 #MadeOnEPA holiday gift campaign. Shoppers can support local makers by following the hashtag #MadeOnEPA on Twitter (@epassyunkave) and Instagram (@eastpassyunk) to see our daily highlights of unique local products and gifts that are all made right here on East Passyunk Avenue. Also, shops and boutiques on East Passyunk Avenue will be launching brand-new holiday window displays on Saturday, too. Stroll the Avenue to see them all, and vote for your favorite during our Arctic Ave celebration on December 10. Check http://www.visiteastpassyunk.com/ for more updates.
** TREE LIGHTING PARTY - THURSDAY DECEMBER 1**
EPABID and Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation’s (PARC) annual Tree Lighting Party will happen on Thursday, December 1 at the Singing Fountain (Tasker Street and East Passyunk Avenue).
Starting at 5:00 p.m., East Passyunk Avenue neighbors and friends will enjoy holiday favorites sung by carolers from Alphabet Academy, music by students from Andrew Jackson School, and a holiday performance by the Joe King Trio, culminating with the lighting of our Singing Fountain Christmas Tree, with CBS 3 feature reporter Vittoria Woodill as MC. Santa Claus will be on hand to spread holiday cheer as neighbors sip hot chocolate and enjoy holiday treats from Avenue restaurants. Plus, shops along the Avenue will be open late to kick off the holiday shopping season. This event is free, and family-friendly.
